MYTH:    If I book my own travel plans on-line, I will save money.
FACT:    We will not only find you the lowest rates, but we also provide a lot more -- like brochures on the islands with information on activities, sightseeing, maps and restaurants.  You will also get the benefit of our personal knowledge of Hawaii, from 20 years experience in planning trips to paradise.

MYTH:    If I book my room direct with the hotel, I will get the lowest rate.
FACT:    Although many hotel web sites state ‘Guaranteed best rate’ - this applies to public internet site rates or 'published rates'.   We have special negotiated wholesale rates (that are not published on the internet) that are lower, or at least the same price, and by booking with Hawaiian Travel, you will receive our island brochures and personal knowledge of the islands.  Also, our booked rooms are not the leftovers that no one else would choose, hence the 'last minute rate'.

MYTH:    I can get personal assistance from a knowledgeable agent at one of those big on-line retailers.
FACT:    When was the last time you tried to get someone on the phone at a typical multi-national company?  Better yet, ever try to get a call back name or number?  The chances are the agent you will speak with (may not be in the US and) has never even been to Hawaii, but instead is reading information to you off a web site or brochure.  Is that the kind of 'personal service' you want?  We do not think so.  Over the past 20 years, we have personally traveled to the islands over 40 times. There is no substitution for personal knowledge of the destination.  We last went to the islands two months ago.

MYTH:    It is going to cost me more if I contact a travel agent for assistance.
FACT:     For air & hotel packages, Hawaiian Travel does not charge a service fee for trip planning.  Depending on how much trip information you ask for, and how detailed your trip plans become, we may either require an up-front deposit towards your trip, or charge a nominal planning fee if you want personalized day-to-day suggested itinerary.
